Danny Boyle - "Trainspotting" filmed key scenes at film locations around Fife. Danny Boyle's gritty, raw portrayal of Scottish life in the 1990s made this film a cultural phenomenon, using various locations effectively to convey the story’s themes.

Ron Howard – “The Da Vinci Code" - the movie adaptation of Dan Brown’s thriller included several sequences filmed at Rosyth Church. Ron Howard, known for his detailed and grand cinematic style, used the atmospheric setting of Fife to enhance the mysterious and historical aura essential to the storyline.

Ewan McGregor - Profession: Actor - Contribution: Although born in Perth, McGregor was raised in Crieff, which is very close to the Fife boundary. He is one of Scotland's most famous actors, recognized globally for his roles in films like "Trainspotting," "Moulin Rouge!," and as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy. Ncuti Gatwa – Profession: Actor. Ncuti was born in Rwanda, but settled in Fife after his family fled during the Rwandan genocide of the early 1990s. He has swiftly risen to prominence as one of the most dynamic actors of his generation. A proud alumnus of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he performed with the repertory company of Dundee Rep Theatre/ One of his first TV roles was in comedy series “Bob Servant” by Dundee writer, Neil Forsyth and starring the city’s own Brian Cox. Gatwa's exceptional talent and charismatic presence have earned him accolades both on stage and screen. Known for his breakout role as Eric Effiong in the critically acclaimed Netflix series "Sex Education," Gatwa's portrayal of the complex, endearing character has resonated with audiences worldwide. In 2022 he was chosen to star in the hugely [popular and long-running BBC series, Doctor Who.

MacDonald - Profession: Producer - Contribution: Ian MacDonald, born and raised in Glenrothes, Fife, has been involved in various capacities in the film industry, primarily as a film producer. Deborah Kerr - Profession: Actress - Contribution: While born in Helensburgh, Deborah Kerr spent significant parts of her early life in Fife. She was one of the most famous actresses of her time, known for her roles in classics such as "The King and I," "An Affair to Remember," and "From Here to Eternity."

Paul Bettany -  is a well-known British actor. While Paul Bettany was born in London, he spent his childhood in Scotland. His father, Thane Bettany, left the Royal Navy and relocated the family to Scotland for a period where he performed with the repertory company of Dundee Rep theatre. Paul Bettany is widely recognized for his work in film and television, with high-profile roles in Hollywood, especially in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Paul Bettany is renowned for his roles in a variety of films across different genres. Some of his notable roles include playing Geoffrey Chaucer in "A Knight's Tale," Charles Darwin in "Creation," and Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Captain America: Civil War," and "Avengers: Infinity War." Additionally, he portrayed Jarvis, the artificial intelligence system, in several Marvel movies and the Disney+ series "WandaVision."

Sylvester McCoy - the actor who played the Seventh Doctor in the iconic British TV series "Doctor Who," was born on the West coast of Scotland and moved to Dunfermline in Fife during his childhood. He portrayed the Doctor from 1987 to 1989 and briefly reprised his role in the 1996 "Doctor Who" TV movie, marking the transition between the classic series and the modern revival of the show.
